OPEN JUNIORS FINALISTS!

 By: Linda Johnston

It was a great contest to kick off the season. We saw several double winners for the day but Ava McGowan stole the show with 4 division wins in Open Girls, Open Super Girls, Explorer Girls and Explorer Super Girls. She dominated the scoreboard putting up very good to excellent wave scores in every one of her heats! Little man Ethan Harbinson came out of the gates strong taking the win in the Open Mini Grom and Explorer Super Grom divisions. Sterling Makish was on fire at the contest taking double wins in the Open Juniors and Open Boys. Logan Colucci went big taking double wins in the Explorer Boys and Menehuene finals. Newcomer Mason Burk was in amazing rhythm throughout the day putting on an impressive performance in his first NSSA event taking victories in 3 categories. Mason set the bar high walking away with first place trophies in the Open Mens, Explorer Mens and Explorer Juniors. Frank Gilday took home the win in the Super Seniors and Chris Brown clinched the first Seniors win of the season.

It was a fun contest and we look forward to seeing everyone at event #2 back in New Smyrna Inlet on September 16th
