MINI GROM SHREDDER ROBBIE GOODWIN WITH PAST NATIONAL CHAMP AND FORMER SE/N STANDOUT JEREMY JOHNSTON!

By: Linda Johnston

The Southeast/North scored fun waves and beautiful weather for event #6 at New Smyrna Beach Inlet and outstanding performances were delivered from our surfers. A big standout of the day was Lily Whatley who pulled off three wins in the Open Womens, Explorer Womens Longboard and Explorer Longboard divisions. Congratulations Lily!

We had several double winners with Blake Elmore taking home first place in the Open Juniors and Explorer Boys.  Laird Myers who was stepping up a division came in a very close second in the Explorer Boys, but he pulled off  the big win in the Open Boys. Laird also finished second in another close heat in the Explorer Menuhune final with Noah Brownell that clinching the win in that division. Caleb Goepfert was in great rhythm all day capturing double wins in the Open Mens  and Explorer Juniors.

Robbie Goodwin took command in the 10 & under divisions taking victories in both the Open Mini Groms and Explorer Super Groms. Robbie was ripping earning the highest heat scores of the contest. Sophie Falzone clinched her third win of the season in the Explorer Womens division and Braidyn Cunningham took her second win for the season in the Open Girls.  Newcomer Nicole Fulford put on an impressive performance sealing her first win in the Explorer Girls!

Looking forward to seeing everyone for our 2014/15 season finale at New Smyrna Beach Inlet on February 22!
